As part of The Swedish National Organisation of Leisure Gardening Societies (in Swedish: FritidsOdlingens Riksorganisation, FOR), our office usually takes part in the big gardening exhibition Nordiska Trädgårdar (Nordic Gardens) together with Stockholm International Fairs.

At the famous open-air museum Skansen in Stockholm there are two allotment gardens with cottages dating back to the 1920's, open to the public during the summer. Every summer day, allotment gardeners from our federation work voluntarily with both information and gardening in these gardens at Skansen, open air Museum.

On the Alloment Garden’s Day, the 26th of August in 2023, all member associations are encouraged to organise local events to promote allotment gardening and to high light some of the benefits allotment areas bring to society in general, such as biodiversity.

During 2022 the Swedish Allotment Federation has organised 8 webinars about a wide range of topics, all connected to gardening and growing your own food. In the spring: New ways to grow tomatoes, How to make your own fertilizers/nutrients, Fruit and berries that both taste and do good and Gardens make the soul prosper. In the fall: Garlic, Growing and using leafs and roots from Asia, Potager in the kitchen garden and Agroforestry on the allotment. This series of webinars will continue in 2023.
