Fédération Internationale

The Fédération Internationale des Jardins Familiaux is the most important, European non-profit making union of national allotment and leisure garden federations with more than 2,000,000 affiliated leisure gardeners and leisure garden families.

The Fédération Internationale was founded in Luxembourg on 3rd October 1926.

The Fédération Internationale unifies today the national federations from Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Great-Britain, Japan, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and Switzerland.

Before their membership, the Japanese allotment garden federation (Association for Japan Allotment Garden) was linked to the Office by an associative agreement from 2006 until 2016. End of 2016 they became full member of the Fédération Internationale.

The Fédération Internationale has the participative status with the Council of Europe. www.coe.int

Since 2013 the federation is member of EUROPA NOSTRA. europanostra.org

Since 2015 the Fédération Internationale is member of the Luxembourgish platform for the week without pesticides.

In 2021 the Fédération Internationale was accredited as observer to the UNEA (United Nation Environment Assembly.
